#4

Heya first of all happy cny to every1 and hav a great year aheaddd >=)
btw happy valentines day too.

Any idea wad this means? =/ or did i take it on the wrong side ;D

Well for the first time i actually managed to organize an outing with relative success i think

I know my phone is crappy and sadly some people who i wanted to meet couldnt go =(

Watched Percy Jackson :D

Hmmm i think its an okay movie and i'd look forward to sequels, if any. Apparently the movie cut out or edited lots of stuff from the books that would be important for sequels like the final battle sequence thing with luke and whatnot.

After that was steamboat which i think is overpriced but wad the heck

Heh u cant even see anyone :D

I think i sark at blogging
Rite, college starts tmr and there's a presentation that has to be done so i've to dress formal-like which is very troublesome =/
College life is sooo stressful with all the tests. At least most of my tests are done with except econs and english but the next set of tests will come in march so thers no break at all ='(
Cant wait for the next hols in march and also spm results day muahaha ;]

Been feeling moody these few days

------
Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are and the things you never want to lose
------

Damn damn - from copying work in highskool to actually doing them in college..
Back to doing my last minute work for econs
Until next time

#3 Life So Far

Rite, gona be primarily a picture post :D
Well.. gona start wit stuff from last year

Hmm cant even remember the last time i went mv =/
Anyway the mall near my house is the Aeon mall and their christmas decorations were made from recyclable stuff like the snowman being made from egg carton cardboard thingy and the blue christmas tree was actually from bottles =O awesome

Next up was my one-day trip to Singapore for a wedding dinner and i saw some neat stuff ther :D
a thing to note is that the land there is uber expensive and thers lots of condos

This is how they dry their clothes, including underwear ahem see left side :D! And i was wondering how they'd take the clothes and at that moment a lady just stuck out her hand and grabbed the whole stick and brought it into her apartment

No, i did not take this pic becoz of the lady. Anyway this is wat their bus looks like. Having the segregation thingy in the middle like a train is neat. Crap forgot wad its called.

Went to the four seasons hotel for the dinner :D
Some weird deco thingy but seriously the place was awesome - lives up to the 5 star hotel name it holds

The chopstick holder was some cool dragon thing

More importantly they gave chocs in a box and wads great is that my old uncle and aunty sat with us so i get their chocs because old ppl wana (have to) be healthy :D

GREAT toilet with towels to wipe ur hand

Rite, the dinner was very healthy, too healthy for me. And the high quality shark fin soup was kinda weird to eat =/ its circular in shape rather than the cheapo streaky ones i'm used to so...
Cheap > Expensive
then had to leave early for the flight to aussie so no glutinous rice for me =(
Owh and its important to note that they had singers there too who were great at wad they did. So cool to have that kinda job which is fun

Off to aussie =O
didnt do much there or go to any of the 'worlds' coz went there a few times alrdy

what we did do was watch Sherlock Holmes
the cinema there is all free seating and the best part is you can actually return your ticket before the movie if u cant make it and u get fully reimbursed :D
the movie was great but since it was so long ago i guess its not showing in the cinemas anymore?
witty script and dialogue though and i think robert downey jr won a golden globe for his role in that movie?

sticks at the beach =O

was nice and breezy

spot the dog

Mmmm didnt do much there i guess.
Oh yeahh. I nid to tell you how crappy the toilet locks were! Ur supposed to turn it anti-clockwise which is opposite as to what we normally do for a dead-bolt lock and we cant even check if its locked coz if we pull on the knob it opens regardless..
Anyway i guess the locals found the.. mechanism confusing too
Well, i know coz...
Well i accidentally barged into a lady while she was getting up from the toilet bowl =O
btw the toilets are kinda like in an open area wit no gender so i DIDNT go into the ladies if tats wad ur thinking =/
Anyway the lady started screaming so i looked down and started saying sorry then i left for another cubicle :D btw her boyfriend outside gave me a stare o.o

since i had nothing to do i spent most of my time reading and i actually finished 2 3/4 books of about 500 pages each

Owh yeah. On christmas day i went to church (not coz i wanted >=( ) anyway during the service i got an sms from carrine wishing bla bla bla and how she wanted presents and everything.
The main point here is that my phone wasnt on silent so my handphone made a real loud noise and every1 momentarily stared at me =/ they probby are thinking stupid msians >=( well, blame carrine

Then i started college with IT studies but decided to change it to specialist maths and so i had to leave my new frens and joined the other class.
College was alrite except for the loads of homework especially from both the maths but i find the class which passes by the fastest is specialist maths. Even today, we took 50mins to finish 2 graph questions and it was a great experience that time went by so quickly:D

Rite then sometime this year i wrote a story and posted it here and decided hmm lets get a free 100 bucks too :D

Muahahaha :D thanks pn khoo for telling me
And i made taylors college proud too :D
I'l be expecting a cheque to come in a few weeks

Until next time.

#2 Gift

Lets be honest. I was never really close to Man Yee. Yes, i was the asst monitor and i did go around talking with people - but never in details.
And it seriously didnt hit me when i got the news.
I thought it was some kind of sick joke.
It didnt even hit me when we attended the wake on saturday.
Sure, i felt sad. It was unreal. Standing beside her coffin i froze. I knew that with a glimpse everything would turn into reality. And it did.
Though, it hit me today. Checking my mail i stumbled upon what i'd learn to call facebook-spam-mails. And i knew what it was about.

Thinking bout our years together in school. The only thing I can remember is when i borrowed her est book from her and i forgot to bring it back especially on the exam day. I could see she looked very upset. I felt kinda mad too. But the next day when i returned the book she just smiled at me and made a joke and i felt stupid for being angry.

I realised one thing: she managed to bring the class back together again.
Another good deed to add to her already long list
Rest in peace.

Goodbye.

THE SANDMAN

We bring you shocking and disturbing news that yet another victim has been found. Once again, we would like to advise anyone against leaving their houses unnecessarily until the ruthless murderer has been apprehended.

She knocked the newscaster’s voice out of her head. No, it was Christmas and she wanted to enjoy it by the beach. Of course, she figured, it was one of the things which happened to somebody else. Claire Winfield was a strong headed girl and those close to her would know that once she made her mind up, there was no stopping her.

Kicking off her flip flops, she grabbed her sunglasses and laid it precariously on her head. It was a fine sunny day. Perhaps this was the day she could meet her soul mate. Claire beamed at the thought.

A serial killer presumed to be a male who has been dubbed ‘the sandman’ left his fourth victim who was discovered by a horribly surprised couple. According to sources, the sandman has been prowling local beaches over the past month.

‘Awful, isn’t it?’

Claire was sucked out of her reverie and took a quick glance upwards. She smiled.

Meet soul mate number five, she grinned to herself.

‘Miss…?’

‘Claire,’ she offered swiftly.

‘Right, Miss Claire. I would strongly suggest you to pack your things up and head home. Don’t you read the news about the killer?’

The sandman has been targeting women regardless of their age and most notably, all of them were alone.

So much for meeting my other half who thinks I’m an idiot, she scoffed. She was not ready to back down just yet.

‘Well, I’ve heard he only attacks people who are by themselves. So… if we could walk together, I’m sure we could-‘

‘Hey,’ he inconsiderately interrupted her. ‘Do you like sand?’

‘Like? I love sand.’

‘That’s good.’

He gave her a cryptic smile, ‘I’m Roger. Now, shall we?’

Claire often fell for mysterious guys. Something about their hidden agenda excited her to no end. Yes, she loved to explore uncharted land. Funny, Roger loved that too…

***

‘Oh God, what have I done?’ Claire whispered to herself in horror.

His voice was getting louder now, even sadder and angrier. He seemed to inch closer and closer towards her. She could even smell the faint odour of his aftershave.

This was not the uncharted land she bargained to explore, not even by a mile.

According to anonymous sources, the killer lures in his victims with his boyish charm and good looks – taking in women with the very principle that leaves their knees weakened; love at first sight, though this fact can not be confirmed.

Roger was almost hysterical, ‘And then the idiot just took the money and left!’

Claire took another huge gulp of the beer she had in her hands – it was her fourth one. ‘Why did I even think of hooking up with this loser who keeps whining and whining,’ she thought to herself. She resumed drinking operations and finished the can. It hit her that the beer tasted slightly different but she shrugged it off as getting drunk.

At her fifth, Claire felt a pang of pain in her head. ‘Mind over matter, mind over matter,’ she murmured.

‘What was that?’ Roger quipped. ‘Anyway so there I was just minding… my own business… and…’

But she couldn’t hear anymore of his babblings. The pain grew and grew and she soon cringed in the torment. Her visions double, no, tripled and she was overcome by a strong wave of fatigue. As her eyelids close she could still see that Roger had stopped talking and looked a tad bit worried, or was he?

Then she remembered the creepy salesperson who sold them the drinks. No way…

Based on final autopsies done on the victims, a large dose of drugs has been found in their systems and investigators are positive that the perpetrator somehow drugged these women to render them unable to retaliate.

Help me Roger… That was her last thought before she slipped into unconsciousness.

***

Claire had always loved the beach, most particularly the sand but sounds of waves were very much therapeutic to her. She had them both now. She could hear the waves crashing onto shore clearly - which seemed to be surprisingly near - and funnily, she could feel grains of sand covering her entire body with the exception of her head.

Am I in paradise?

Claire struggled to open her heavy eyes.

Be aware of the gruesome modus operandi that the sandman goes by, that is to dig a pit and chuck his victims in while leaving their heads exposed to the forces of nature.

Groggily, she realized she was in such a pit. Her eyes grew wary and her heart beat faster. Adrenaline pumped through her veins.

Roger soon appeared in a too relaxed manner, she thought. The newscaster’s voice surged into her mind. ‘The killer lures his victims in…’

He spoke in a cheerful voice, ‘How do you like my present for you, lovely?’

Claire was confused.

Realizing this, Roger continued, ‘Uh, you said you liked sand didn’t, you? Well, surprise! Sorry about drugging you though. I know it’s unorthodox and probably illegal.’

A wave of relief swept over her. ‘Oh, Roger, I thought you were the sandman! God, am I glad that confusion got cleared…’

‘Oh?’ Roger was amused. ‘Did I say I was not?’ He gave her the same smile that lured her in.

As quickly as the horror went away, it instantly resurfaced.

‘Roger, stop kidding me-’ she was breathless.

‘Jokes aside, lovely. Enjoy the sand and waves while it lasts.’ The man she came to know as Roger started walking away.

No… Please.

He leaves his victims in the pit during high tides and waves would come crashing in.

No…

He ignores their screams and pleas while the desperate women remain helpless and can only hope for help to come by.

Don’t do this…

Drowning has been known as one of the worst ways to die.

No…!

Roger glanced back at her.

And then he watches them die.

***

‘Hi, I’m sorry, you don’t know me. I’m Sarah Winfield…? Well, I’m here to look for my sister Claire. Have you by any chance seen her? What worries me is that she’s very naïve and with the killer lurking around I just cant possibly-’

‘Yeah, the killer – you’d better not walk around alone. By the way I have not seen this sister of yours but it would be my pleasure to accompany you. I heard the killer doesn’t strike couples.’

Sarah couldn’t believe her luck. Arms of security instantly blanketed her. ‘Thanks so much! Mister…?’

‘My friends call me Roger.’

‘Right, Mister Roger. So… where do we start looking-’

‘Hey,’ he interrupted her. ‘Do you like sand?’

‘Like? Well its one of my favourites, that’s for sure.’ Sarah pondered momentarily about that odd question but thought nothing of it.

‘Great, let us start searching over there.’ He pointed to a shady area of the beach. Then, he gave her a cryptic smile – the one that most women he met would die for.
